Basic Function

Responsible for the efficient workflow of the Maintenance Execution work process of their assigned area. This includes reactive maintenance as well as longer-term risk mitigations and improvements. Supports Reliability through Operational Risk Management, Winterization, and scope development for Outages. Supports Safety by providing field engagement and assuring teams understanding and application of Energy Control, Joint Job Site Visits, and Stop Work Authority

Job Duties

  • Facilitates work identification and work notification writing practices, ensuring they are understood and followed by the personnel writing work notifications.
  • Screens and Prioritizes each work request to ensure the intent of the area maintenance initiative is being properly executed with respect to safety, compliance, reliability and urgency.
  • Participates in maintenance planning and scheduling meetings and other Operations and Maintenance meetings as necessary to understand and convey operations’ maintenance needs and priorities for resourcing and scheduling.
  • Obtains and communicates weekly and daily schedule work activities to operations to ensure equipment and permit readiness.
  • Ensures Management of Change processes are being followed such as field tagging, PSSR completion before startup.
  • Ensures all compliance type repairs are completed by due date or submits proper extension or deferral paperwork.
  • Works with Production and Maintenance leads to improve management of the work order process.
  • Conducts random audits on in progress and completed jobs for operational and maintenance compliance with safe practices, planning, and scheduling processes to ensure continuous improvement
  • Reviews work with Production Specialists to ensure accuracy and correct prioritization for reactive as well as work orders that require engineering.

 

May be required to do some or all of the following:

  • Assists with work permitting questions and co-signs as necessary to ensure energy control.
  • Support and assure isolation packages developed by the equipment owner.
  • Review project scope of work and design for tie-ins, safety, startup and maintainability.
  • Support development of solutions for bad actors, and repeat operator round exceptions.
  • Support Abnormal Situation Management.
  • Backfill Production Specialist (s)

 

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of eight years of job related work experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
 
 
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: A Bachelorors degree, or Trade School, or Journeyman/Craftsman Training are preferred.

Ability to identify and solve problems, and optimize work processes that have a direct financial impact on the success of the company. Ability to handle high pressure situations, and long hours. Team player with good interpersonal skills with ability to work in a collaborative environment. Ability to interact with all levels of staff including engineers, operators, shift and maintenance supervisors. Ability to read and use process flow and P&ID sheets. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Intermediate computer skills inclusive of SAP and Visio. Knowledge of refinery operations and craft knowledge. Knowledge of safe work practices related to the specified fields. Self-starter and safety sensitive with good troubleshooting skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Basic reading and writing skills.

Work Conditions

Office and refinery based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, fumes or airborne particles, loud noises, vibrations, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.

Salary Range:  The salary range includes the minimum, midpoint, and maximum base salary values.  A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.

This position has a salary minimum of $83,900.00 and maximum of $145,900.00.
