Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources in Anacortes, WA who will have the overall responsibility and accountability for the conduct of HR operations for a large client group and/or assigned company location. With minimal supervision acts as a credible partner to the business leaders through the development and integration of HR policies and practices that resolve business issues. Manages a team of Human Resources professionals.

Job Duties

  • Oversees human resources operations and establishes department objectives and assignments to grow our culture, develop our people and improve efficiency as well as cost effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership in the areas of policy or collective bargaining interpretation, dispute resolution, and application of appropriate regulatory requirements.
  • Site leader and spokesperson for the collective bargaining process.
  • Utilizes knowledge the business landscape to proactively develop staffing, succession and workforce plans.
  • Provide career planning and development counsel to employees and managers.
  • Leads investigates and/or provides guidance in the area of employee complaints/issues and assists employee-related legal or third party issues.
  • Formulates policies related to all aspects of employee relations and recommends these policies and solutions to senior management.
  • Participates in the development of processes with the Centers of Excellence and ensures processes are integrated successfully within the assigned client group.
  • Constructively works towards the best possible process within Human Resources to meet the client's needs while recognizing the demands of the business as a whole.
  • Directs and implements programs and activities for community relations necessary to increase public awareness of, and foster support for the company in the local area, serving as company representative to community organizations and media, including outreach activities. (depending upon location)
  • Creatively grows and promotes the organization's culture and vision.
  • Coach managers on complex employee relations issues.
  • Provides leadership & support to client Leadership Teams in the areas of HR strategy, talent development and performance management.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years related experience.

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a Technical field related discipline required.

  • Ability to read and appropriately interpret information from multiple sources
  • Influences key stakeholders and clients/leaders

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Professional certifications such as SHRM - SCP, SPHR, GPHR, CCP, GRP, CEBS or other similar external certifications.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of the HR Function through one or more direct reports.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 25% by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, and warehouse/plant environment (depending upon assignment).
