Title: Manager, Accounts Payable

Basic Function
HF Sinclair in Artesia, NM is seeking a Manager, Accounts Payable to oversee and manage the HFS Accounts Payable (AP) Function in a shared service environment with 12 in the group.
Job Duties
- Ensures AP department accurately and timely processing the received vendor invoices.
- Monitor the AP KPI for the department and individual processors; identify and address performance issues based on KPI stat. Actively manage entire AP group to ensure full employee utilization
- Obtain firm understanding of the various payment systems within the company as well as how they interface with SAP. This position will need to be the Subject Matter Expert in AP transactions in SAP
- Monitor GR/IR (liability account) account to ensure no unpaid aged transactions
- Have customer service temperament when handling internal customers as well as external vendors
- Participate in process improvement projects including system implementation or new process development/ deployment
- Develop & analyze reports for management review (i.e., payment forecast, Trade AP reconciliation)
- Provide internal and external auditors with information regarding interim & year-end audits inquiries
- Exercises judgement to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and process problems
- Provide training and guidance to internal and external customers, answer questions on AP processes
- Maintain all required reporting work papers as needed and in conjunction with Sarbanes Oxley
- Participate in the monthly Closing process including accruals and clearing SAP error log
- Formulate and enhance HF Sinclair AP procedures and policies as needed
- Special assignments or tasks assigned as determined from time to time by management
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of on-the-job experience with a significant amount of experience in accounts payable accounting is required. Energy industry experience relating to Midstream segment is preferred.

Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
Required Skills
Ability to lead and direct the work of AP associates by train & delegate to accountants, administrative and supervisory staff. Proficient with SAP, spreadsheet & word processing applications; good interpersonal and decision-making skills; knowledge of GAAP, laws and regulations pertaining to AP operations; ability to plan, organize and direct projects (i.e., AP system and process improvements). Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats.

Travel Requirements
