Title:  Ready for Maintenance

HF Sinclair in Artesia is seeking to fill our Ready for Mainteance position.  This position oversees multiple aspects and activities of the Maintenance and/or Reliability Department.

• Oversees Maintenance and/or Reliability Department to a safe, environmentally sound, and reliable operation
• Oversees the execution of all routine maintenance activities in conjunction with other departments as needed
• Oversees special projects using craftsmen or a contract work force, including expense and capital work
• Oversees the resolution of maintenance reliability issues
• Fills in as needed for other staff positions and Refinery Manager
• May generate backlog, cost estimate, schedule and work scope reports
• May be responsible for maintenance budget management
• Develops Department work force including training, job rotations, and special assignments

  Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

A minimum of 8 to 10 years industrial maintenance/craft experience or equivalent engineering experience is required. The career level will be determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience is required.

Advanced ability to lead and direct a large interdisciplinary work force. Strong interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.

Responsible for the direct supervision of up to eight employees.

Office based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment and occasionally driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, loud noises, vibrations, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
