Title: Analytical Engineer- Monitoring

Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a Analytical Engineer-Monitoring in Dallas , TX who will be responsible for the use and deployment of advanced analytical tools and AI/ML for asset and process unit monitoring to support the refineries in early failure identification and overall health of refining assets.
Job Duties
- Review and validate potential failures identified by analytical tools.
- Review recent failures to develop potential analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with multiple groups to foster an adoption of analytical tools.
- Aid in the development of standardize work processes for analytical tools
- Support the refineries in adoption of proactive monitoring solutions and work processes.
- Aid in the deployment of AI/ML and other advanced analytical models for refinery asset monitoring.
- Support reliability initiatives and investigations as needed.
- Develop templates, standard tools, and best practices for fleetwide applications
- Regularly share progress, learnings, and achievements cross-fleet
- Managing contractors and vendors associated with technology deployments
Experience
- 3+ years experience in a technical role within the refining industry with ability to understand oil flows and process unit technology.
- 2 +years experience in using analytical tools for asset performance monitoring applications.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge around the use of process data historians
- Knowledge around multiple refinery process unit technologies
- OSI PI Asset Framework or equivalent experience
- Experience in delivering modern/digital solutions that include AI/ML Software

- Power BI or Tableau reporting
- Analytical Tools (Seeq, PI Asset Framework)
- Python coding
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Work Conditions
Dallas-based with up to 25% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends as needed.
