Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX  is seeking a Director, Business Analytics and Strategy who will oversee and be responsible for the Business Analytics and Strategic Planning functions for the Marketing Division.  The Director will manage analyst(s) and provide financial and strategic expertise to all functional groups in the Marketing Division to drive profitable business decisions and insure proper stewardship of capital investments. Additionally, this role will lead a cross-functional team in the development and communication of the Marketing Brand Strategy. This role is essential to managing branded profitability and maximizing the contribution of the Marketing Division to HF Sinclair. 

 

Job Duties

  • Works closely with senior management to drive systems and processes around detailed reporting, data visualization and key performance indicators for effective and timely decision making.
  • Leads Marketing Division strategic planning, analysis, decision support, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Oversees the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting, management reporting, and short/long range forecasting.
  • Monitors and reports on capital spending and IRR of Marketing branding projects including financial analysis of projects proposed by Marketing leadership.
  • Performs proactive ad-hoc analyses and reporting to identify and offer solutions for business challenges and improvements; Fulfill ad-hoc analysis and reporting for the Marketing Division.
  • Provides strategic financial analytics leadership for proposed discretionary projects, and partners with business leaders to submit/present these projects to the capital committee.
  • Prepares slides and delivers financial insights to senior management for use in BOD meetings, Earnings Calls, and other financial presentations.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of seven years of industry experience, planning, business analytics, and business optimization work experience are required. Two years of management and supervisory experience beneficial.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum ten years of industry experience and understanding of SAP.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field is required.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

MBA preferred.

 

Required Skills

Ability to lead and direct the work of other management associates. Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications; strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Utilizes entrepreneurial and critical thinking skills in broad based economic analysis, short-term and strategic planning where analysis is concerned with the influence of external market factors upon the organization, or for activities related to project evaluation, financial structuring, and investor interface.    Advanced ability to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency. Advanced reading and writing skills; the ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal; and to perform advanced mathematical calculations.

 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of professional or managerial employees.

 

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 25% by land or air is required.
