Title: Infrastructure Administrator

Basic Function
The Infrastructure Administrastor conducts server and platform related technical assignments and projects for the Information Technology Department. Responsible for a wide variety of technical tasks in virtualized infrastructure for Windows and Linux servers and Cloud computing, consistent with established security guidelines. Assist with recommendations to address business requirements and improve workflow to ensure consistency and effective involvement of support resources throughout all project phases.
Job Duties

- Provides proactive administration and daily operation for server and application virtualization solutions
- Participates in creating & planning server deployment, explains plan to management, assists in the decision making of computer hardware and layout, and plan implementation
- Uses best practice methodologies for managing data backup, disaster recovery and replication throughout the enterprise
- Performs basic support for cloud platform (Azure)
- Monitors virtualized server environment and resolves host system issues to provide the highest level of availability
- Configures and tests server and datacenter infrastructure
- Supports datacenter infrastructure including racking and cabling
- Performs day-to-day administration of DHCP and DNS infrastructure
- Troubleshoots, researches solutions, and monitors server and virtualized environment activity using industry standard toolsets as well as custom coded solutions
- Researches and resolves complex issues regarding operations, installations, on-line transactions, system status and downtime
- Regularly consults with management/business and end users on needs and requests related to corporate systems applications and connectivity issues
- Assists with identifying opportunities and design solutions to address business requirements and improve workflow to ensure consistency and effective involvement of support resources throughout all project phases
- Installs, supports and administers software and/or custom applications as required, resolving issues at all levels and updating patches
- Maintains clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for the application and supporting infrastructure environment, including detailed design documents, and assist in building procedures, training and technical support guidelines
- Analyzes usage and trends, and evaluates vendor products in hardware and software
- Monitors system health, performance tunes, and troubleshoots virtualization and other software environments and evaluates all in-place systems and applications
- Documents activities such as down time, problems, and system configurations
- Relocates technical equipment to and from an assigned location
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of 7+ years of job-related experience.
Education Level
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, related discipline or equivalent working experience is required.
Required Skills
Design and implementation of virtual server infrastructure. Advanced daily administration of virtualization environment and DDI platform. Experience configuring and operating data protection solutions and Cisco Unified Computing System blades and other industry standard hardware. Ability to plan, rack and cable datacenter hardware (servers, storage, switches and UPS systems). Advanced knowledge of file/print servers, security and permissions using active directory. Strong use of Microsoft PowerShell for daily configuration and automation. Strong understanding of TCP/IP,DNS, DHCP, DFS, and SMTP. Strong working knowledge of MS Visio for documentation. Ability to document and evaluate current environment and use best practice methodologies to ensure highest-level investment utilization. Experience with ITIL methodology for Service, Change and Incident management. Advanced reading and writing skills, and ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Preferred certifications: Virtualization platforms, Microsoft MCSE, MCSA or equivalent. Industry (A+, Network+).
- Experience with fundamental public Cloud system (Azure)
- Experience with on-prem to Cloud workload migrations
- Experience with server backup and recovery systems (Rubrik, BackupExec, Veeam, etc.)
- Experience with Privileged Access management and multi-factor authentication.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL server supporting applications.
- Experience with merger and acquisition infrastructure activities.
- Working knowledge of Storage Systems
- Basic network switch configuration and Fiber Channel Configuration.
Work Conditions
Office based with travel up to 25% of time by land and air may be required. From time to time, required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
