Title:  Internal Audit Technology- Senior Data Analyst

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Senior Data Analyst-Internal Audit-Technology in Dallas, TX who will be responsible to identify  and integrate data analytics and automation across the Internal Audit function. Acts as a resource and supports team with programs.

Job Duties

• Supports and promotes the Internal Audit department’s data analytics and automation initiatives
• Serves as an internal functional resource on data sources, analytics, automation and visualization techniques
• Works with data owners to gather and process data from multiple systems, and ensure the data is of sufficient quality
• Participates in the execution of data extraction and analysis in support of Internal Audit projects and activities
• Leverages data analytics and automation tools to automate internal controls testing and/or support continuous audit monitoring programs
• Completes data analytics reports and dashboards to provide insights to stakeholders
• Promotes adoption of data analytics and automation within the department via training
• Participates in special projects as requested by management

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

 A minimum of two years of related experience in data analytics and /or automation are required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, accounting, finance or related field is required.

Preferred certification

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or relevant data analytics certification preferred.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in extraction and analysis of data from a wide range of systems, including SAP
• Ability to understand business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop automated solutions
• Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders supported by a strong understanding of the data in question
• Self-starter and proactive in advancing the department’s data analytics and automation initiatives
• Experience and understanding of internal control standards (Sarbanes Oxley, COSO), control testing strategies
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx)

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 10% is required by land or air. From time to time, required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. At times, required to work in warehouse/plant environment and refinery/industrial environment, includes but is not limited to working near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, loud noise and vibrations, and varying road conditions, At times, required to work out of doors and subject to all weather conditions.
