Basic Function

HF Sinclair Midstream located in Dallas, TX is seeking a Project Analyst. This positions focus is to support and improve the execution of HF Sinclair’s Midstream Projects Team’s portfolio of projects through supporting the Director of Projects and Project Managers. This role will support various tasks associated with managing the portfolio and individual projects in all stages of the project lifecycle, including development, initiation, funding, planning & design, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closure.

Job Duties

  • Managing & supporting low complexity projects
    • Learning our business and how we operate and support the organization.
    • Learning and executing our project management processes
    • Learning and utilizing our systems to execute projects
    • Leading project teams & coordinating activities to execute work
    • Managing project schedules, cost and procurement activities
    • Communication across the organization as it relates to projects
  • Supporting Annual Budget Efforts
    • Numerous activities associated with the validation and development of projects
    • Coordination and prep work for budget review meetings
  • Supporting PMO Development Initiatives
    • PMO Manual
    • Power BI Dashboards
    • Other Initiatives
  • General Support
    • Setup of Projects in our project management system
    • Submission for AFEs as needed
    • Reaching out to bidders and setting up bid events
    • Help with requisitions as needed
    • ISN Contractor OQ Verification
    • Maintaining Contractor Register
    • Pushing AFE & MOC Approvals
    • SME on certain systems and processes to provide support
    • Compliance Monitoring - Training
  • Auditing & Analysis
    • Monitoring & Reporting on Project Health – includes but not limited to Financial, Schedule, MOCs
    • Monitoring & Reporting on Maintenance of Project Information – This includes Cost Tracker Information, Schedule Updates & Rebaselines, Forecast Updates, Status Updates
    • Monitoring & Reporting on Required Documentation - Is documentation complete and where it needs to be
    • Monitoring & Reporting on and Pursuing Completion of Workflow Items – includes but is not limited to AFEs and MOCs
    • Monitoring & Reporting on Cost Approvals and Exceptions - Fieldglass & Track Time
    • Analysis of Forecast/Schedule alignment
    • Review of Project Status Update Report
  • Reporting
    • Creation of Monthly Reimbursable Spend reports
    • Maintenance and/or Validation of Pipeline and Tanks Outage Schedule

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of one year in petrochemical, midstream or refining industry and one year in a project management related role is required

Education Level

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and Bachelor’s of Business or Science degree

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent is preferred or sufficient experience in the Petrochemical and or Refinery Industry providing necessary technical base to perform job description is preferred. PMP or other Project Management related certification is also preferred.

Required Skills

Technical expert in area of specialty. Advanced ability to stay abreast of new technology and industry developments and processes and apply knowledge analytically. Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and commonly used engineering and project management concepts and experience. Familiarity with standards and practices of the specific discipline. Design oversight ability in at least one of the following areas: Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Instrumentation/Controls Design, Civil Design, Metallurgy. Ability to marshal, motivate and manage resources. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, basic reading and writing skills, and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Work Conditions

Office with some field based work with up to 25% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment based including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, varying weathers and road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity. Job conditions may require making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 25lbs, climbing up to 200ft, and the ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid State driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
