Basic Function

HF Sinclair Midstream located in Dallas, TX is seeking a Project Controls Coordinator. This position supports project team by providing financial controls and tracking for projects, and project manager with management tools, controls, and analysis, allowing management to make informed decisions with accurate and timely data. 

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

  • Leads project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Initiates correct structuring setups to facilitate data collection and monitoring during project execution.
  • Monitors and assists in forecasting costs throughout life of the project.
  • Reconciles monthly project balances through committed cost reviews, earned value analysis, submission of journal entries and preparation of accruals.
  • Tracks progress against budget throughout year to provide variance reports for management.
  • Performs analysis of project schedules and financials to identify risks, trends, and opportunities, providing recommendations to support proactive decision making.
  • Anticipates future project needs and supports the establishment of project departments budget.
  • Administer project management systems, including user access, providing end user training, maintaining data governance standards, and resolving system issues.
  • Assists and development, maintenance, and enhancement of project controls reporting tools and performance metrics to improve project visibility, forecast accuracy, for decision-making.
  • Sets safety example by keeping current on LRST and other safety initiatives within the plans
  • Provides project controls expertise, guidance, and support to projects team and stakeholder departments while promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and financial stewardship.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years in project control and/or project accounting or related field experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent is required.

Required Skills

Ability to perform complex schedule and financial analysis. Broad understanding of engineering, construction, logistics, and financial processes. Advanced knowledge of accounting, procurement, and project financial concepts and processes. Proficient with Microsoft applications and strong spreadsheet software skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver to required deadlines. Detail oriented. Ability to work independently. Strong analytical, problem solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills. Ability to work additional hours as required to support project control efforts. Ability to see how all the pieces affect the overall organization, i.e., big picture perspective. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

General proficiency in Microsoft packages Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. Proficiency with project management system is preferred. General knowledge of procedures and practices for contracting field construction activities is preferred. 

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
