Title: Project Controls Supervisor

Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking for a Project Controls Supervisor to supports project teams by supervising, training, and overseeing project control administrator’s that provide project and financial controls, tracking, and analysis for all major projects allowing manager to make informed decisions with accurate and timely data.
Job Duties
(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
- Is a subject matter expert in the use of project control tools and analytics including estimating, project/cost and contractor reporting and scheduling.
- Has experience supervising and is capable of setting expectations and goals for subordinates.
- Understands projects and the flow of information that is required to manage them.
- Works well in teams and at times will backup subordinates when needed.
- Responsible for accurate and timely reports to the project managers and corporate management.
- Helps subordinates strengthen their skills and improve productivity.
- Schedules subordinates to insure projects are covered through the region and shares resources as needed. Increases support during turnaround execution timing to insure reports are updated daily and transferred to corporate BI report.
- May support Project/TA Managers by helping to evaluate contractor estimates, schedules and resource plans.
- Trains subordinates to use Track, cost/project control tools, SAP, BI and other required systems.
- Develops and improves current processes and systems.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of 10 years in planning, estimating, construction management, or project controls in a process plant or fuels terminal environment is required. Midstream pipeline experience is a plus.
Education Level
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline is preferred.
Required Skills
- Broad understanding of engineering, construction, logistics and financial processes. Advanced knowledge of accounting, contracting, and procurement software systems and processes. Spreadsheet software skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver to required deadlines.
- Ability to work additional hours as required to support project control efforts. Prioritization skills are required. Ability to see how all the pieces affect the overall refinery, i.e., big picture perspective. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
- Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- General proficiency in Microsoft packages Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Proficiency with SAP, Track, Power BI. General knowledge of procedures and practices for contracting field construction activities is preferred.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and training to subordinate company and contracted resources to meet the requirements of the projects.
