Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Renewables Contracts & Pricing Associate in Dallas, TX.  This role provides deal support for renewables organization to ensure deal accuracy, and deliver a high caliber customer service to renewables suppliers, customers and other counterparties.  The candidate will work collaboratively across the team to research and address any disputes in billing, purchases or document transfer.  They will also assist the renewables team in SAP setup for a variety of purposes including new plants, customers or destinations.

Job Duties

Contracts & Pricing:

  • Reviews all Renewables contracts and pricing for accuracy, completed and delivered in a timely manner
  • Handles all aspects of issue resolution and facilitates clearing month end errors
  • Liaises with traders, brokerage firms, customers and other departments regarding contracts and pricing
  • Creates and maintains agreements and master data customer, vendor and contract forms (deal sheets)
  • Manages customer set ups by working with a cross functional team, including credit, tax, and accounting, by clearly explaining objectives, leading the process through completion, and regularly communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Updates and maintains a procedure manual for Contracts & Pricing requirements
  • As necessary, reviews invoice generation, assists in keeping cumulative balances to a minimum
  • Obtains all customer/vendor information to set up master data in SAP
  • Liaises with other departments such as Refinery Accounting, Credit, Marketing, Tax, and Data Integrity to ensure assigned customers receive excellent customer service
  • Ensures contract and pricing documentation is compliant with Audit and SOX requirements
  • Downloads pricing data for price survey, verification, analysis and notification
  • Coordinates with scheduling, billing, and accounting groups to ensure invoices are prompt and accurate
  • Develops expertise with various forms of software, including internal SAP modules and external terminal and pricing software, including Informatica, DTN TABS, Atlas, and our Customer Portal
  • Performs AP Coding for marketing invoices

May include some or all of the following:

  • Assists in RFS and LCFS compliance requirements, including generating/assigning/separating/accepting RINs in EMTS, monitoring credits linked to fuel sold to customers, preparing monthly recap and analysis of renewable fuel sold, troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

Experience

A minimum of two years of on-the-job experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.

 

Preferred Education Level

A Bachelor’s degree in business or in a technical discipline.

Required Skills

Advanced analytical and research skills required to analyze various data. Intermediate knowledge of the Company’s business process including but not limited to, loading, transfer, inspection and shipping procedures, product marketing, invoicing, and cash to order business process. Advanced computer skills particularly in MS Excel. 

Interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills are necessary to create mutual respect with peers and a positive work environment. Knowledge of safety, environmental and transportation regulations and procedures, basic math, reading blueprints, capable of writing effective instructions. Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationship within department and with other departments. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal communication, ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, advanced reading and writing skills.

 

Preferred Skills

MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel, SAP TSW, BI, ECC functional/end user experience preferred.  

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office based with occasional site visits by land and air required. Petroleum refinery/industrial environment, including but not limited to, working near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, petroleum products, chemicals, pressure vessels, and/or tanks. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
