Title: Senior Tax Analyst International

Basic Function
HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior International Analyst to conduct complex tax accounting assignments for the Corporate Accounting and Tax departments under moderate supervision.
Job Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
- Assist with the preparation and review of various federal and international income tax returns as well as VAT/GST, and other relevant filings for both corporate and flow-through entities.
- Prepare and review tax journal entries and federal and international income tax estimated payments and extensions.
- Prepare book-tax differences and other calculations related to ASC 740.
- Prepare complex tax calculations.
- Participate in the preparation and review of the income tax provision processes.
- Assist in the maintenance and documentation of transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with local and international regulations while minimizing tax exposure.
- Communicate with outside vendors, customers, taxing jurisdictions, and HF Sinclair personnel to provide tax inputs on business processes and bring potential liability issues to the attention of Tax management.
- Assist with special projects as required as assigned by manager.
Experience
A minimum of four years of professional work experience handling federal and international tax and accounting matters in a public accounting firm or publicly traded company.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Two to three years of international tax experience.
Education Level
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance, or equivalent business discipline required. CPA preferred.
Preferred Educational Level:
Master’s degree in accounting or tax.
Required Skills
Ability to perform complex tax and accounting analysis, including but not limited to account entries and adjustments. Leadership skills and ability to lead the work of others. Working knowledge of corporate tax return reporting process and Microsoft products required. Advanced skills required in MS Excel (i.e. advanced calculations and formulas). Experience with accounting and ERP software, and awareness of recent tax changes required (TCJA, CARES, etc.). Broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures (GAAP). Ability to effectively communicate with others, in writing or verbally, intermediate to advanced reading and writing skills, and ability to perform intermediate to advanced mathematical calculations.
Preferred Skills:
Working knowledge of SAP.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
SUPERVISORY/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages projects and assignments.
Work Conditions
Office based with up to 10% travel by land and air required. Subject to varying road and weather conditions. On occasion may work in a refinery-based environment that may require occasional work out of doors, subject to varying weather conditions.
