Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a System Administrator in Dallas, TX, who will conduct advanced level sever related technical assignments and projects for the Server Operations and Engineering team.  Responsible for the management and maintaining the Microsoft 365 cloud environment to include configuring, securing, and troubleshooting the Microsoft 365 tenant and its services, including: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Entra-ID. Will also contribute to other technologies as assigned.

Job Duties

  • Plan, implement, and manage the Microsoft 365 tenant and its services, including licensing, governance, compliance, and security policies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the Microsoft 365 tenant and its services, using tools such as Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Azure Portal, PowerShell, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users and other IT staff on Microsoft 365 issues and best practices.
  • Manage user identities and access, using Azure Active Entra-ID, Azure AD Connect, and Authentication.
  • Configure and manage email and collaboration services, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Implement and manage data protection and retention policies, using tools such as Microsoft 365 Compliance Center, Microsoft Information Protection, and Microsoft Cloud App Security.
  • Keep up to date with the latest Microsoft 365 features and updates, and evaluate their impact and benefits for the organization.
  • Document and maintain the Microsoft 365 tenant configuration and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots, monitors, and researches solutions to aid peers in operation efficiencies using industry-standard tool sets and custom-coded solutions.
  • Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides telephone, e-mail, and after-hours support to all sites using various tools.
  • Develops and maintains clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for the application and supporting infrastructure environment, including detailed design documents, and builds procedures, training, and technical support guidelines.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of eight years of job-related experience is required.

Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Required Skills

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert certification, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and features, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation for Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience in managing hybrid environments, using tools such as Azure AD Connect, Exchange Hybrid, and SharePoint Hybrid.
  • Experience in implementing and managing Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions, such as Microsoft Information Protection, Microsoft Cloud App Security, and Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Skill

Preferred certifications: Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, Microsoft Windows Hybrid Server Administration Associate, Industry (A+, Network+).

  • Experience in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
  • Experience administering IIS server, Tomcat and Apache.
  • Additional support experience troubleshooting TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, DNS and anti-virus is preferred.
  • Experience with Program Management and methodologies.
  • Experience with merger and acquisition infrastructure activities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Ability to work independently, as part of a team and as a team leader.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 30% of time by land or air is required. From time to time, required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability.  At times, required to work in refinery/industrial environment, includes but not limited to, work near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, loud noise or vibrations and varying road conditions.  At times, may be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
