Title:  IT Risk and Compliance Analyst

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking an IT Risk and Compliance Analyst to be based at the headquarters in Dallas, TX. This position will be responsible for ensuring enterprise compliance with adopted frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements. The team will act primarily as the 2nd line in the 3 lines of defense model. 

Job Duties

Job duties are depending on candidate's experience:

  • Assists IT teams throughout internal and external audits and reviews of systems, applications and IT processes
  • Participates in key SOX controls for IT including user access reviews and termination reviews.
  • Assists in pre and post- implementation reviews of system implementations or enhancements for controls readiness and design, implement or remediate the processes as necessary.
  • Participates in IT security reviews (e.g. network, operating system and data center), including evaluating, identifying, and mitigating possible security vulnerabilities and coordinates the scope and performance of these reviews with IT Leadership
  • Participates in evaluations and testing of IT compliance with existing controls and provides value added feedback.
  • Maintains the IT enterprise policy library, including document creation and periodic review.
  • Performs various reviews of IT drills and exercises such as penetration tests, business continuity planning/ disaster recovery tests and incident response and assist in remediation where applicable
  • Provides guidance to Business and IT management in regards to IT risk management matters, particularly on application and infrastructure security
  • Supports and may lead IT teams throughout internal and external audits and reviews of systems, applications and IT processes

  • Completes IT security reviews (e.g. network, operating system and data center), including evaluating, identifying, and mitigating possible security vulnerabilities and coordinates the scope and performance of these reviews with IT Leadership
  • Evaluates and tests IT compliance with existing controls and provides value added feedback. Coordinates with SOX Application teams as applicable
  • Manages the IT enterprise policy library, including document creation and periodic review.
  • Performs various reviews of IT drills and exercises such as penetration tests, business continuity planning/ disaster recovery tests and incident response and assist in remediation where applicable.
  • Assists Infrastructure teams in developing, building & implementing tools to analyze data to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
  • May provide guidance to junior team members or technical resources members as necessary.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 1 - 4 years of relevant experience with an IT background. Prior position in IT Governance/IT Audit – internal audit or external auditing firm. Progressive achievement in one or more of the traditional IT disciplines (applications, operations, infrastructure, and management). Career level will be determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. 

 

Preferred Experience: 

Experience with IT Operations. Understanding of multiple technology domains including software development, server management, database management, and networking.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Accounting.

 

Preferred Education Level:

Technology or risk certification preferred e.g.; CISA, Security +, CGEIT etc.

Required Skills

Understanding of IT general controls, SOX audits, and policy management. Ability to research and gather information from both business and IT functions, strong presentation, verbal and written communication, and ability to work on and manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.         Familiarity with frameworks and standards such NIST CS1.1, COBIT 5, and ISO.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May provide oversight of technical resources depending on career level.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 20% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weathers and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends as needed.
