Title:  IT Associate Business Partner - Sales & Marketing

Basic Function

HF Sinclair Corporation in Dallas, TX is seeking an IT Associate Business Partner –  Sales & Marketing who will work with the Business Partner or Sr. Business Partner to ensure that business goals are met through effective provisioning of technology solutions and services. Under the direction of the Business Partner he/she will engage with stakeholders in the business organization to develop medium to long term strategic plans and capability roadmaps, ensuring alignment with HollyFrontier objectives. He/she acts as a trusted business advisor, providing oversight and guidance to enable the successful delivery of specific projects, and influences the delivery of IT services. The IT Associate Business Partner also actively markets and promotes IT services and ensures that the demand for these is managed and prioritized effectively. The key to success is a broad knowledge of relevant technologies and trends, compelling communication to business leadership regarding how IT enables future business capability, and the ability/know-how to leverage the IT organization to drive successful delivery, considerate of local needs and global direction.

 

The IT Associate Business Partner will be responsible for supporting one or more of the following modules:  Environmental, Health and Safety or Commercial (collaborate with senior leaders related to supply chain capabilities such as feedstock and hydrocarbon supply, sales and marketing, and related commercial fundamentals/ reporting).

The Business Partner will indirectly manage teams to ensure the delivery and sustainability of our IT portfolio.

Job Duties

  • Supports the business partner to promote a business-focused, results-oriented technical culture within IT in support of the business
  • Exhibits an understanding of business functional disciplines and technical IT knowledge (applications, analytics, hardware, software, security, etc.) to identify opportunities to leverage information technology to achieve business objectives and assist in deployment
  • Evaluates, recommends, and roadmaps changes to current and future system requirements to meet global business organizational needs, and assist the BP to drive those changes
  • Possess basic knowledge of the IT industry for the Commercial function and help promote best practices in order to be a trusted business advisor for the Functional Leaders
  • Conducts analysis and provide input to the BP to drive strategic business value and innovation
  • Builds and maintain strong relationships with the next-level HollyFrontier Business leaders, below the level at which the BP maintains relationships
  • Acts as owner of IT for functional or geographic area and liaison between IT teams and the business under the direction of the senior business partner
  • Supports the BP to communicate successes, demonstrate IT value and appropriate governance of IT activities
  • Leverages common solutions and innovative technologies
  • Mentors and shapes initiatives and work efforts to seek cost efficiencies and effectiveness for the business, under the guidance of the BP
  • Develops and maintains a broad business understanding
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies and make recommendations to the BP
  • Manages services provided to business through existing and new technology
  • Gathers business needs and gains alignment between business needs and technical capabilities, engaging with System Analysts and Enterprise Architects, under guidance of the BP
  • Captures demand via the agreed process, provides recommendations for prioritization, and oversees program and project initiatives
  • Manages business expectations with business stakeholders based on IT resource availability

Special assignments or tasks assigned by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of IT experience or relevant functional business and process expertise appropriate to the role is required. Experience in strategic decision making and successful influencing on leadership level. Experience building and communicating future business plans and capabilities along with being able to provide insights into the technologies needed for delivery is required.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Financial acumen to support business case creation and measurement. Broad knowledge of the specific business’s technologies and capabilities within the refining and commercial space. Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the organization including suppliers, partners and customers.

 

 

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Master's Degree.

 

Required Skills

Self-motivated, quick and assertive. Extremely detailed oriented and organized. Exceptional time management skills. Excellent writing and communication skills. Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics. Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis. Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them. Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required. Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat Professional. Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical thinking, process management, time-management, verbal and written communication skills. 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Project or program management experience in dealing with medium or large projects. Previous experience in working in various IT related Business roles. Prior Consulting experience in SAP SD, MM, IM or in the related Business area. SAP IS OIL experience is a preferred.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 40% by land and air required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping. Job conditions may require standing and walking.
