Title:  Fixed Asset Accountant III

Basic Function

HF Sinclair Corporation Headquarters in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant who conducts complex accounting assignments for the Accounting department with minimal supervision and acts as resource and lead position for less experienced personnel.

Job Duties

  • Maintains General Ledger Accounts and account reconciliations related to Fixed Assets. 
  • Performs various reconciliations and analytical analysis to ensure accuracy & completeness for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Analyzes and manipulates various Company and/or financial data and records at a high level
  • Monitors the timely completion of routine to complex fixed asset accounting duties.
  • Oversees day-to-day fixed asset accounting operations, including month and quarter- end close
  • Completes and may supervise/ lead special projects as required
  • Performs various assigned financial calculations
  • May create, coordinate, and maintain assigned fixed asset/project schedules
  • Prepares and monitors various reports and resolves discrepancies as needed 
  • Ensure appropriate authorizations for all projects (both Capital & Expense) are properly documented and maintained per the Delegation of Authority to ensure both compliances and completeness.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits
  • Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff
  • Reviews, analyzes and presents process improvement proposes to management within department.  


Special assignments projects or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.


A minimum of five years of job-related accounting work experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in accounting, finance, or related field is required.



CPA designation is preferred.

Required Skills

Must be able to perform complex accounting analysis and mathematical calculations. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, experience with accounting, and depending on assignment maintenance software. A broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures is required. Must have advanced reading and writing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.



Experience in corporate accounting and SAP FI/CO system experience is preferred.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Must be able to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency.

Work Conditions

Office based and occasional work in a petroleum refinery. May be required to work flexible hours.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color differences, and the ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted). Job conditions may require standing, walking, and lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs.
