Title: Inventory Materials Specialist

Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking an Inventory Materials Speciaist in El Dorado, KS. In this role, you will perform warehouse and inventory management functions for assigned plant(s). You will be under the direction of the Inventory/Materials Supervisor, including multiple warehouse locations or systems storage locations depending on assignment. Ensures warehouse / materials management provides greatest overall benefit to company; ensures inventory management activities are performed in an efficient manner and according to company policies and procedures; ensures goods are available when and where needed in the required quantity, quality and price.
Job Duties
- Performs warehouse and inventory management activities including but not limited to material management, master data management, cycle counting, scrapping and surplus management, and ensures assigned jobs are completed according to policies and procedures, safely and effectively.
- Oversees and coordinates inventory of materials and parts to maintain required supply, including evaluating inventory levels and auto-reorder system procedures.
- Facilitates plant workflow for inventory set up, including setting up new/requested parts numbers, stock records, bin locations, order quantities and parts association.
- May expedite materials for upcoming and overdue warehouse material purchases.
- May perform procurement function for warehouse inventory and low value expensed parts as assigned, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders and/or conducting RFQs for warehouse inventoried materials.
- Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents, equipment, building and tools against loss
- Creates, retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports
- Oversees the plant inventory VMI, vending machine or other supplier programs
- Manages the plants surplus and scrap material processes according to policies and procedures, including managing third party auction providers and scrap metal buyers
- Performs inventory cycle counts according to policies and procedures
- Manages tool rooms, repairable material, storage location or other process tracking/monitoring as assigned
- May coordinate storage or lay down yards for engineering, maintenance, turnaround and capital materials, facilitates warehouse pick ticket or movement of materials from warehouse to various staging locations.
- Reviews receipt and Purchase Order documents to facilitate invoice payment
- May supports system enhancements or changes, and ensures warehousing information systems and hardware are properly utilized
- Supports internal audit activity, including yearly material and supply count verifications
- May serve on the plant Emergency Operations Command team
- May arrange and track freight transportation for various LTL or dedicated load shipments.
- Maintains a neat, clean and well-organized and professional work area
- Other, similar warehouse operations or inventory management tasks assigned by direct supervisor, as determined from time to time at their discretion
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time at their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of five years of job related experience in a similar environment is required.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.
Required Skills
Previous experience or knowledge of material management. Transportation management, computerized inventory control (preferably SAP) and distribution/warehouse operations experience. Interpersonal skill, organization and ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Ability to handle special projects while performing regular job duties. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Basic reading and writing skills, and with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Forklift certification and hazmat shipping training/certification required.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
May be responsible for overseeing contract labor on occasion, as assigned.
Work Conditions
Office, warehouse and yards-based with periodic night, weekend, and holiday call out. Job conditions include refinery and warehouse environment, both indoors and outdoor, and subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.
