Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Supervisor Maintenance in Eldorado,Kansas who will be responsible to oversee certain functions and activities of the Maintenance Department, supervising and coordinating activities of assigned staff, and resolving problems and issues as they arise under limited supervision.

Job Duties

  • Oversees quality of work, safety, and overall performance of assigned staff
  • Gives work direction to assigned employees in assigned area
  • Evaluates assigned employees’ job performance
  • Assists engineering as needed
  • Coordinates with operations in scheduling equipment for repairs, and construction (depending on assignment)

 

May be required to do some or all of the following:

  • Track head count and verify timesheets to ensure cost and schedule compliance
  • Perform on-call duties
  • Issue confined space work permits

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of related on-the-job experience.

 

Prefered-Energy industry experience.

 

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of refinery operations.  Specific craft knowledge.  Good interpersonal skills, self-starter and safety sensitive.  Troubleshooting skills and ability to function effectively in a team atmosphere.  May require special training depending on craft and location: Eng Was (188 Montana) Station Configuration/Fiber Optics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Laser alignment, compressors, welding and equipment operation.  Some experience working with job related equipment is essential.  May require certification in any or all of the following depending on craft and location: Certification in Level II ISA, Journeyman Electrical License, Crane and Rigging Inspector Certification, etc.,  Measurement & Controls, Fundamental of Management/Supervisor, Control System & P/C geared for ABB (Bailey)(188 Montana) Configuration.

 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of up to 10 employees. 

Work Conditions

Refinery based.  Required to respond to plant related emergencies and be available after hours during critical business situations depending on location.  Outdoor duties under wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Industrial environment, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks and rotating equipment.  Will be required to work in petroleum refinery environment and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, dirt, mud, water, and/or petroleum products.  Work in all types of weather conditions and work under stressful conditions on occasion.
