Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Regional Manager, Sales and Marketing in Kansas City, KS. In this role, you will manage a team of marketing representatives accountable for the gasoline and distillate rack sales.

Job Duties

  • Manages the regional sales and marketing teams, who is accountable for all gasoline and distillate fuel rack sales, including working with pricing department to ensure we are meeting strategisc benchmarks, within assigned region
  • Collaborates closely with the bulk supply and trading teams to balance the bulk/rack sales quantities and locations to ensure the cost effective and reliable clearing of the refinerieiss while also maximizing overall sales profitability
  • Manages unbranded/branded marketing representatives within respective region
  • Branding Experience and understanding of growing a brand is a must
  • Establishes and maintains exceptional working relationships with customers
  • Negotiates and actively manages rack sales contracts
  • Ensures sales contracts counterparties, durations, locations, pricing, terms & conditions are developed in conjunction and collaboration with their supply & bulk trading colleagues and fully considers bulk sales alternatives
  • Leads teams utilization of the companys Decision Making Framework structure to rigorously assess business opportunities
  • Identifies new markets and customers and continuously works to increase profitability by upgrading the current portfolio
  • Formulates the teams long- and short-term performance goals in conjunction with the Director, Product Sales & Marketing and the VP, Product Supply & Marketing
  • Communicates with the Director, Product Sales & Marketing and the VP, Product Supply & Marketing, informing him/her of conditions, activities and trends in area of responsibility which may have an impact on the broader business
  • Ensures budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met
  • Works with Credit Department when needed
  • Leads team through crisis management situations which may include off-spec products, supply outages, customer complaints, etc
  • Ensures a close-connectedness with industry peers via industry functions
  • Interprets, recommends, and executes department policy
  • Manages and calls on house accounts
  • Works with management to develop commercial talent

 

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of marketing refined products in the oil and gas industry is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelors degree in a management-related field is required.

Required Skills

Ability to lead and direct the work of other associates. Working knowledge of Microsoft products, excellent communication skills, and ability to multi-task. Ability to be creative, organized, and analytical, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others. Advanced ability to perform light oils marketing and trade assignments effectively, and execute sales opportunities. Advanced ability to read and write, and an ability to perform intermediate-level mathematical calculations and present publicly.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of approximately six (6) employees.  

Work Conditions

Office based with extensive travel throughout the Untied States required up to 60% of the time by land and air required. Up to 30% of time will be required to work in petroleum refinery environment. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
