Basic Function
Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair business is seeking a licensed Electrician. Reporting to the Lubeplex Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician position is critical to improving the reliability of Lubeplex production and is an integral part of a team driving world class maintenance. This individual must demonstrate ownership of safety, quality, service and cost values. This safety conscious individual will install, service and repair a variety of Lubeplex process and packaging equipment. A successful candidate will be challenged to drive equipment and procedural improvements and will participate and assist in establishing an environment which reflects craft flexibility and teamwork.
Job Duties
- Repair a variety of high and low voltage distribution systems, PLC/Allen Bradley operation and program troubleshooting, electrical/instrument control device settings and calibrations
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and repairs
- Implement preventative and predictive programs/assignments for electrical systems
- Participate in failure analysis discussions
- Maintain equipment histories as required
- Plan and estimate jobs, including assessment, selection of material, etc.
- Work effectively in a flexible Team environment and communicate clearly with all others
- Assist other Maintenance Technicians and Production as required
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years’ maintenance related industrial experience (post apprenticeship)
- Knowledge of all types of motors, packaging equipment, filling equipment, conveyors etc.
- Required to obtain Man lift and Tow motor licenses
- Experience in repair/set-up of high speed packaging equipment
- Planning/estimating experience
Education Level
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Successful completion of an approved apprenticeship program holding a Construction & Maintenance 309A Electrician Certificate
Required Skills
- Strong analytical/troubleshooting/decision making skills
- Understands the theory and practice of planned/scheduled maintenance systems
- Ability to work alone or as part of a flexible team
- Fully knowledgeable of high and low voltage distribution systems, DCS control system operation and configuration, PLC operation/programming, electrical/instrument control device settings and calibrations, etc.
- High level of computer literacy
- Must have a valid drivers license
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of SAP a definite asset
- Good knowledge of quality repair procedures as they pertain to Original Equipment Manufacturers specifications is an asset
Work Conditions
- This job requires some heavy lifting, use of ladders, and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers. This position requires the ability to work in a variety of different work environments both indoors and outdoors. Overtime is a requirement of this position
- Employees working in the Lubeplex Maintenance unit may also be assigned to work afternoon or night schedule
- This is a unionized role with an hourly wage of $63.58
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., perceiving color differences. Job conditions may require twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, and working in confined spaces as permitted.
