Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is seeking a Lead Inventory Control Analyst. Reporting to the Director, Supply and Planning, the Lead Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of SAP vs physical inventory for Global Supply Chain. This role will be an essential driver of supply chain economic strategy as well as the move toward full integration of the Lubricants and Specialties manufacturing and distribution facilities.

Job Duties

  • Leads a team of inventory analysts responsible for the execution of accurate and timely reporting for Accounting and Supply Chain Operations, and ensures compliance with Company procedures, internal controls and SOX requirements
  • Responsible for the Lubricants and Specialties inventory management analysis and reporting
  • Manages the urgent-to-sell process for finished goods
  • Manages the made to order/made to stock (MTO/MTS) processes
  • Manages monthly, quarterly and annual financial and performance inventory reporting
  • Supports and coordinates month-end close through timely and accurate GI/GR postings and books accruals with Accounting
  • Drives consistent inventory reconciliation practices throughout HF Sinclair Lubricants and Specialties’ proprietary and third party operated blending, packaging and distribution facilities as managed by Global Supply Chain
  • Establishes adequate inventory controls and processes to minimize inventory loss and enable accurate inventory data
  • Liaises, collaborates and directs GSC leaders towards the execution of scheduled inventory reconciliations, while identifying cost savings and process improvement initiatives. Assists with review and approvals of inventory reconciliations
  • Partners with Supply Chain teams to improve and implement efficient processes and supporting technologies
  • Participates in various internal and external audits (ISO, financial, SOX) throughout the year
  • Guides the Global Supply Chain team in the development of best practices and compliance to procedures

Experience

  • Working knowledge of SAP (FI, MM S&D) and Business Warehouse (BW)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • 15+ years of experience in a manufacturing & distribution environment. 5+ years leading teams
  • Experience in petroleum business in manufacturing and distribution is preferred
  • 5 years in inventory control and manufacturing analysis in preferred
  • Working knowledge of Power BI is a stong asset
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of departmental strategy at Leadership Team Level.

Education Level

  • Successful completion of post-secondary studies
  • Successful completion of a bachelors degree with preference given to technical education, finance or business

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with the components of the development of a strategy relative to Material Controls and Operating Expenses

Work Conditions

  • Office based with minimal travel up to 5%
  • At times, required to work in warehouse/plant environment and refinery/industrial/pipeline environment, includes but not limited to, work near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, loud noise or vibrations and varying road conditions
  • May be required to work outdoors and subject to all weather condition
  • Extensive amounts of time working on a computer is a requirement
  • Mental stress and pressure dealing with inventory issues, responding to operational needs, multiple priorities and tight deadlines imposed by others
