Basic Function

 

Petro Canada Lubricants Inc, (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is seeking a Maintenance Planner  Reporting to the Team Lead, Planning & Scheduling, the Maintenance Planner ensures that the prioritized maintenance work notifications are planned to enable safe, effective and efficient work execution. Though the initial scope of work is identified by the respective cross-functional teams, it is expected that you will utilize your expertise to find opportunities to complete comprehensive scopes of work that will enable the expected equipment reliability performance.

Job Duties

  • Develop gross estimates for work requests as required for budgeting and decision making
  • Process approved work requests based on priority and risk rank and verify them so that they can be planned effectively and are environmentally, health and safety conscious
  • Prepare structured job plans from the approved work requests with effective breakdown of the work required including all operation steps and duration, resources, all relevant documentation, and planned cost
  • Release the completed work order to the scheduling team with initial dates based upon material and services, special tools and equipment availability
  • Review and release unreleased program job plans
  • Create, maintain, use and continuously improve task lists
  • Identify and/or initiate changes required to master data
  • Solicit feedback regarding job plans, including in-progress and completed
  • Provide support to reliability to build and optimize program job plans and support to supply chain in creating and maintaining material and service masters

 

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

Five or more years of related refinery maintenance or operations experience, with a preference for maintenance planning

Education Level

Trade certificate (Steamfitter), diploma or degree in a relevant technical field (e.g.Mechanical Engineering)

Required Skills

  • Ability to understand engineered drawings/engineering specifications
  • Knowledge of Heat Exchangers, Towers, Drums and Boilers.   
  • Knowledge of piping fabrication, P&ID’s, ITP’s and PWHT.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in SAP (advanced), Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of P6 Primavera for scheduling outages.
  • Supervisory knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act of Ontario is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it

  • This is a fast paced/high stress environment
  • This position includes an office (80% of your time) and plant environment (20% of your time); plant work may involve investigations of machine problems and troubleshooting process and equipment
