Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair business is seeking a full-time Material Handler for thie Grease Packaging department. The Material Handler position in the Lubeplex Grease Packaging department is responsible for operating grease packaging equipment with the goal of meeting daily production targets.

Job Duties

  • Set up and operate oil and grease packaging equipment; including manual tasks
  • Operate a fork lift truck and bar code system
  • Demonstrated willingness to accept responsibility and model behavioral standards in work practices
  • Perform line change procedures and minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Familiarity with the SAP program, and ISO 14001 & ISO 9000 standards would be an asset
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act; WHMIS; TDG
  • Report/log production data (log sheets/computer terminals)
  • Utilize production related computer systems
  • Perform Housekeeping duties
  • Perform all job tasks as documented in department ISO Quality Procedure Manual
  • Maintain effective communications with other production team members
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process and quality improvements
  • On going on-the-job training to keep skills and qualifications current
  • Perform other duties that will be assigned

 

 

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Fork-lift experience is strongly preferred but not required
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
 

Education Level

  •   High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills: listens well, and expresses ideas and concerns clearly
  • Strong ability to trouble-shoot mechanical issues and processes
  • Mechanical aptitude required to perform hands-on operation of plant equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow all quality and operational procedure/policies
  • Must be physically able to perform the core duties of the job
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new skills
  • Demonstrated safety focus

Work Conditions

  • This is a day shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) – Monday to Friday, on-site
  • Location is 385 Southdown Road, Mississauga
  • Safety Sensitive role which will require a drug and alcohol test to be completed prior to start date, pre-placement medical, background checks and a physical skills assessment
  • Starting hourly rate as per the Collective Agreement is $34.98

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs., perceiving color differences.  Job conditions may require twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, and working in confined spaces as permitted.
