Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company, located in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking an Afternoon Production Supervisor. Reporting to the Team Leader Warehouse and Packaging Operations, the Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor plays a key role in directing the overall packaging operations in a safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally responsible manner.

Job Duties

  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained while managing safety performance
  • Manage shift workflow in the packaging operations to ensure continued operations as planned with shift supervision.
  • Supervise the hourly workforce on shift including performance management and capability development, scheduling and effective administration of the collective bargaining agreement (unionized occupational workforce)
  • Monitor and manage key business and performance measures for the area team
  • Responsible for TLM (Total Loss Management) leadership within the Area Team

 

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse, logistics or packaging environment
  • Formal supervisory experience is as asset
  • Experience in a production, distribution or warehouse facility is preferred

Education Level

  • Post-secondary education however, a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Post-secondary education preferred

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to direct, motivate and lead team members in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver timely and effective results while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints
  • Solid computer skills, particularly in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (both Word and Excel)
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, decision making and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to build constructive relationships and work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated coaching and facilitation skills
  • Displays integrity and trustworthiness
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of safety practices
  • Displays commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of Warehouse, logistics and/or high-speed packaging lines is an asset

 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

  • Responsible for supervising unionized employees (a combination of permanent and temporary)

Work Conditions

 

  • Work is conducted onsite primarily in an office setting with regular exposure to the on-site packaging lines, blending and warehouse facilities. 
  • Periods of increased pressure and stress when dealing with operational challenges and responding to incidents.
  • Working in the Lubeplex Packaging area leading day to day decision making
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • The afternoon shift hours of work are 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Backfill of the Day Shift Supervisor is required at times from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
