Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is seeking a Temporary full-time financial Performance Analyst for a one year contract. Reporting to the Supervior, Plant Accounting, the Performance Analyst is responsible for managing and supporting the monthly material management, scheduling process and performance reporting within the Finance group.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and key stakeholders to gather information to enter into reports (Bills of Lading, invoicing, driver cards, meal tickets).
  • Perform daily product accounting of inventory and plant performance through review of refinery feedstock receipts, finished product deliveries, trends and other plant movements.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental reporting and liaising with Environment Canada.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly management reports on key indicators for stewardship.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory losses and gains.
  • Collaborate on internal and external audits (including SOX).
  • Coordinate with carrier companies and manage drivers to ensure only authorized personnel are allowed to move product inside our safety sensitive site.
  • Generate Purchase Requisitions when required for Plant Cafeteria and Plant Accounting. Process invoices relating to cafeteria, overtime meals and other miscellaneous office items.
  • Optimize and automate existing business processes.
  • Back-up to Refinery Accounting Analyst.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

  • At least 3 to 5 yearsin an administrator function, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or, a related field. 
  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (such as SAP which is preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis is required
  • Prior refining operational reporting expense analysis is preferred
  • Experience in logisctics/Distribution is an asset

Education Level

  • University degree or college diploma

  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies, procedures and practices
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong attention to detial/critical thinking skills
  • Understanding of SOX and financial controls is a prefered skill

Work Conditions

  • This is an office based role based out of the Mississauga Lubricants REfinery at 385 Southdown Road
  • Start time for this position is 7:30 a.m.
  • This is a temporary full-time assignment for approximately one year in length

  • The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., perceiving color differences.  Job conditions may require twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, and working in confined spaces as permitted.
