Title:  Temporary Full-time Material Handler - Grease Packaging

Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company, located in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Temporary Full-time Material Handler for the Grease Packaging Department. 

Job Duties

  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new skills.
  • Set up and operate oil and grease packaging equipment; including manual tasks.
  • Operate a fork lift truck and bar code system.
  • Demonstrated willingness to accept responsibility and model behavioral standards in work practices.
  • Perform line change procedures and minor maintenance.
  • Familiarity with the SAP program, and ISO 14001 & ISO 9000 standards would be an asset
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act; WHMIS; TDG.
  • Report/log production data (log sheets/computer terminals).
  • Utilize production related computer systems.
  • Perform Housekeeping duties.
  • Perform all job tasks as documented in department ISO Quality Procedure Manual.
  • Maintain effective communications with other production team members.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process and quality improvements.
  • On going on-the-job training to keep skills and qualifications current.
  • Perform other duties that will be assigned.

  • Team player who also has the ability to work individually, managing multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Proactive problem-solver, but exercises quick and decisive action when issues arise

  • Collaborative with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Education Level

  High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated safety focus.
  •  Strong communication skills: listens well, and expresses ideas and concerns clearly.
  •  Mechanical aptitude required to perform hands-on operation of plant equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow all quality and operational procedure/policies
  • Must be physically able to perform the core duties of the job.
  • Must be able to work a variety of schedules.

Work Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require background checks, a pre-placement medical and pre-placement drug and alcohol test prior to start date
  • This is a temporary full-time, unionized position for approximately one year however, will be based on business requirements
  • This is for a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Starting hourly rate for this role is $34.98 plus shift differentials

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, lifting and/or carrying up to 35lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 35 lbs, intermediate level of reading and writing, performing intermediate math calculations, effectively communicating with others, valid provincial drivers license, perceiving color differences, wearing personal protective equipment.
