Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Director, Finished Lubricants Sales who will report to the Director Sales, Rest of World. The Director, Finished Lubricant Sales is responsible for maximizing financial returns through sales of finished lubricants across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific (EMEA & APAC). Leading a team that develops high value customer relationships and responds to customer needs via a primarily indirect distribution channel into multiple target industry segments. In collaboration with Sales, Global Marketing, Global Supply Chain, Commercial Strategy, Tax, Legal, and Compliance, develops and executes strategies and tactics for all product segments and sales channels. 

Job Duties

Lead the Finished Lubricants sales across EMEA & APAC:

 

  • P&L accountability for a $60m business of primarily packed and bulk finished lubricants
  • Accountable for trading in +40 countries with different languages, cultures, business practices, pricing dynamics, sales terms, cost to serve, legal practices; EMEA & APAC business transacts in multiple currencies: US$, Euro, GBP Sterling; complex legal environment with respect to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
  • Budgeting and sales forecasting responsibility for EMEA & APAC business to support supply planning
  • Daily, weekly and monthly performance monitoring and reporting to ensure targets are met and exceeded
  • Represent region at weekly cross-functional meetings to gain support required from HQ to deliver on business targets
  • Manage price strategy and price performance of the product portfolio
  • Understand, anticipate and react to external market dynamics to maximise business performance
  • Lead and sponsor the ongoing development and delivery of regional sector strategies and product offerings to meet customers’ evolving needs and enhance competitive positioning
  • Act as regional sponsor for all continuous improvement strategic initiatives and change programmes that will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the EMEA & APAC finished lubricants business 
  • Organizing events regionally (distributor conferences, team meetings, trade fairs, customer events) with limited resources.

Experience


•    10 to 15 years demonstrated success as a leader (people leadership, team leadership, change leadership) Proven experience working in a matrix environment, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures
•    Communication and change management experience
•    Significant experience in Industrial lubricants and/or related industries

Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Business. MBA preferred

•    Extensive knowledge of the global (particularly European) lubricants and related industries and markets
•    Good understanding of customers, competitors & markets, new technologies, global supply/demand dynamics
•    Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across various levels of the organization

•    Advanced understanding and use of financial and business data in order to make decisions
•    Thorough understanding of the Company’s vision and strategic direction and to translate the strategies for EMEA & APAC

•    Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to adapt and be successful managing distributor relationships in several countries

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Direct leadership of 2 Managers of Sales and 1 Manager of Technical Leadership, with the responsibility of an overall team of approximately 12 people that includes Sales Account Mangers, Technical Services Advisors and Training Manager

Job conditions may require making visual inspections, lifting and/or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 25lbs, climbing up to 3ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, with valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance, working in confined spaces, and perceiving color differences.
