Basic Function

Reporting to the Manager, Sales-Northeast, this role will be part of the Petro-Canada America Lubricants, LLC business, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HF Sinclair Corporation, and be responsible for soliciting new lubricant sales while servicing existing accounts in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City markets.  This position is not eligible for relocation benefits.  As such, ideal candidates will be based in the assigned geography of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City.   

Job Duties

  • Maintains complete customer accountability
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned geography and accounts
  • Identifies potential new distributors and develops appropriate account plans
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales margin, volume and strategic objectives
  • Develops relationships with area managers at our strategic direct national accounts actively buying in the assign geography
  • Proactively leads a joint company strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates distributor needs on an ongoing basis
  • Leads solution development efforts that best addresses distributor needs while coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Customer Service, Sales Processing, Global Supply Chain, Technical Services, Credit, etc.
  • Uses Salesforce CRM tool to manage and track customer relationship management at the head office level for existing distributors and business development opportunity funnel including call reports and value files
  • Identifies, manages and negotiates innovative opportunity-development with close interaction with field support
  • Manages and problem-solves high priority, escalated items
  • Utilizes price and margin management with the assistance of the Manager, Sales
  • Obtains and provides complete account information, including credit applications and tax exemption certificates, for the purpose of setting up new accounts
  • Learns and operates within the parameters of the account-based sales process
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

  • 5+ years of industry related sales experience

Education

  • Post-secondary education required however, a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered

  • Ability to deal effectively with distributors at various levels, including operations, sales representatives and sales managers, administrative personnel and senior management

  • Previous experience in formulating and executing key client account plans with a focus on a solution-selling methodology
  • Ability to measure and document results in a sales environment
  • Comfortable and confident in writing and delivering presentations
  • Mechanical aptitude and/or interest
  • Computer literacy to ensure efficient communication and maintenance of accounts

Work Conditions

  • This is a home based role with approximately 70-80% travel required
  • The assigned territory for this position includes the following: New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York City
  • The territory and account assignment can vary based on the successful candidate’s home location relative to other team member’s locations
  • Must reside within 50 miles of a large or medium hub commercial service airport
  • Fleet Vehicle Reimbursement program provided
  • Must have valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping. Job conditions may require making visual inspections, lifting and/or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 25lbs, climbing up to 3ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, with valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance, working in confined spaces, and perceiving color differences.
