Title: Maintenance Planner

Basic Function
HF Sinclair Parco refining LLC in SInclair, WY is seeking Responsible for providing job plans for small projects and unit outages. Identifies and ensures all parts necessary to perform maintenance tasks that are procured and kitted prior to job scheduling, focusing on all aspects of maintenance cost control and acts to interface detailed planning with supervisors, maintenance crafts, contractors, and plant operators.
Job Duties
- Maintenance piping and fixed equipment planner:
- Receive and review work requests that have been initiated by Engineering and authorized by the unit supervisors.
- Prepare a work scope and establish the labor, tools, material, and equipment required for work requests, conduct job walks for updating plans throughout the execution of work scope.
- Estimate, plan, and requisition -manpower, materials, and equipment for approved work requests, while consistently having multiple projects going at any given time.
- Prepare and supply drawings, sketches, line numbers, bid packages, specifications, procedure, etc. that will aid the Maintenance Supervisor for all planned jobs.
- Work directly with other plant staff to ensure proper material procurement, specification, and documentation for material, i.e., Material Test Reports, testing data etc.
- Responsible for maintenance of the records essential to the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility.
- Accumulate costs for reporting purposes on specific jobs.
- Recognize High Risk work/critical lift during planning stages, prepare and conduct meetings and documentation applicable to work scope.
- Aid in monitoring and correcting problems in the planning process that adversely affect maintenance performance, specifically, Travelers, hold points for Non-Destructive Examination and Quality Control requirements with documentation.
- Work cooperatively with pressure safety valve inspection technician to maintain pressure safety valve integrity plant wide.
- Extended work hours may be required while unit outages are being performed.
- Follow-through on commitments made to others.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
Six years maintenance or planning experience in the oil and gas industry with preference given to those candidates with previous oil refinery experience.
Education Level
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
Required Skills
Knowledge of refinery operations and craft knowledge. Intermediate level leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Basic reading and writing skills and the ability to perform basic level mathematical calculations. Proven interpersonal skills. Self-starter and safety sensitive. Troubleshooting skills and ability to function effectively in a team atmosphere. Knowledge of safe work practices. Computer skills necessary to operate assigned maintenance system, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Ability to lead and train a small group of employees. Multi-tasking and team orientation skills.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Depending on location, occasional relief supervisor responsibilities of hourly maintenance employees for various foremen or may be responsible for the supervision of 12 to 15 employees. May be responsible for oversight of up to 50 contract employees. Serve as project manager for special assignments as required.
Work Conditions
Office and field based and with up to 5% by land and air require. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. Periodic overtime required. Required to respond to plant related emergencies and be available after hours during critical business situations depending on location. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 30lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, climbing up to 200ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity.
