Title: Human Resources Business Partner

Basic Function
Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and based out of Industrial Oils Unlimited, LLC, HF Sinclair is seeking a full-time Human Resources Business Partner. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for independently leading and executing a broad range of Human Resources processes with minimal supervision. The role collaborates closely with the HR Manager, global HR colleagues, and organizational leaders to proactively address and resolve conflicts between established HR practices and evolving business needs. Advancement within this role is determined by business requirements and organizational priorities.
Job Duties
- Reliably performs independent Human Resources studies, analyses, and interpretations to draw sound conclusions and recommendations supporting HR and business efforts
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, adheres to all applicable state and federal HR laws, and prepares required reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail
- Designs and develops new and improved Human Resources methods and procedures through partnership with the business, HR Operations, and Centers of Excellence
- Supports employee and labor relations matters under the close guidance of the HR Manager, conducting thorough investigations and providing recommended follow‑up actions in alignment with HR Manager direction
- Administers, coordinates, and maintains HR programs, and is recognized by peers and leaders for advanced knowledge and capability in these areas
- Coaches and mentors managers on the appropriate ways to navigate employment issues
- Credibly and constructively challenges and leads the business and internal HR processes
- Will be responsible for administrating and coordinating HR policies and procedures as needed by the business
- Assumes increased accountability for delivering core Human Resources services and actively supports the execution of the HR agenda at the leadership table
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement within core HR operations and proactively presents recommendations to senior HR leadership
- Leads the full-cycle recruitment process, including interviews, hiring activities, offer letter preparation, compensation negotiation and serving as backup support for the HR Coordinator. Responsibilities also include managing background checks, coordinating drug and alcohol testing, conducting initial applicant screenings, and ensuring a smooth and efficient candidate experience
- Coordinates and handles on-boarding of new employees
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
- 4-7 years of previously related work experience combined with demonstrated capabilities required to perform all HR functions of the role
Education Level
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field is required

- Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and HRIS applications (SAP experience/exposure considered an asset)
- Handles confidential information with discretion, consistently exercising sound professional judgment
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of relevant employment legislation and standards, across both federal and state jurisdictions
- Shows strong understanding of core HR program areas, including compensation, recruitment, labor relations, and employee development
- Achieves objectives and delivers results that have a sustained and meaningful impact on the department’s long‑term performance
Work Conditions
- Office based with occasional business travel as required
- Work may involve extended periods of time at a computer as well as reviewing and preparing hardcopy data.
- Long and irregular hours may be required due to an emergency “on-call” obligation or the cyclical nature of the workload
